Summer seems like a complete blur. Working three jobs doesn't leave much time for play or exploration. I can't believe that we will be into September next week, Where has the time gone? I know they say that time flies when you are having fun but at this time I beg to differ.
Adventure and Exploration has been scarce BUT there is lots to ramble on 'bout.
Many things have happened since my last 'real' post, or should I say have changed. I graduated from my GIS program this June and totally owe my sanity to three very important people (Its amazing what a good support system can do for you). Graduation day was bittersweet, It was such an epic feeling to finally be able to say "I graduated, were done". You wouldn't know if it was my first time or something! HOWEVER I hope to never have to work in a concrete box for 9 months straight ever again with no natural light.
My mom made the trip over for my graduation and stayed for a few days. It was so nice to be able to spend some one on one time with her and show her some of my favourite spots here on the west coast. I will day that four days simply isn't long enough but it is possible to JAM PACK activities into those few short days.

Despite my strong feelings to move back to the east coast, I decided to give the West Coast a shot, tough it out until some work contracts come through. It hasn't been the most unrewarding situation; it definitely has its perks. As Ive mentioned countless times before, the scenery and activities that reside here are like no other. When you get to embrace everything that the West Coast has to offer, there is no other place you'd rather be.
I did get to make a few short trips to Gros Morne within the last few months. Short but always a pleasure to be surrounded by the richness that the park has to offer, it does the heart good.

My good friend Emily came out for a long weekend this past may and brought a little taste of home with her. There was still some snow left on the ground but that didn't stop us. We were able to conquer Coppermine despite all the snow in the woods, hiked into the table lands, played in Shallow Bay, Rocky Harbour & on The Arches. Most recently a group of us took a day trip up to just get out of Corner Brook. As always we went for a walk on the beach in Shallow Bay because you just can't go to Gros Morne and not go up to the beach for a look, and had a feed at this little chip joint on the side of the road up the coast. I have spent many a days and weekends in Gros Morne and up until this trip I has never been into this little shop that resides oceanside called, The Glass Gallery. I HIGHLY recommend this shop to anyone who enjoys glass artwork, prints, or anything Newfoundland in general. Absolutely quaint! I purchased a beautiful piece by June Farnsworth titled "Western Brook". I fell involve with this piece and just had to have it

'I somehow managed to travel for a few races this spring/summer, which blows my mind given how busy I was. However, they were totally worth it. One of my closest running friends and I were able to put another tick on our running race list and travel to Halifax for the Bluenose Marathon. We decided to complete the half marathon rather than the full, epic experience none the less. A race in larger cities is where half the fun lies because there is always exploring and new adventures to be had. One of the biggest races or should I say hardest races i will compete in is coming this October in St. Johns called C2C or Cape to Cabot. They say it is one of the hardest races in all of North America.... we'll see. Ask me in a months time.
I FINALLY got to experience what is the Lomond Sink Hole and I must say it is TOTALLY worth the 18km drive off the highway, It is absolutely BEAUTIFUL. Such a cool experience- Nature is just awesome. The sinkhole has been described as one of Newfoundland's most natural wonders, and to be honest Id have to agree. It is approximately 30 meters deep and 45 meters wide. You can climb down into the sinkhole with the help of a rope that is anchored from the top to bottom. It is a little steep in areas so take care not to fall on the way down or it is a long tumble to the bottom. Once you are down in the sinkhole itself the rocks are of course very slimy and slippery and it is a little chilly even on the warmest of days.

Upcoming on the exploration radar in-between copious amounts of work and petsitting is a camping trip to Gros Morne, Hopefully an adventure to Burgeo and another short trip to the East Coast for some Running Pleasure.
