So I am days away from my next trip to the West Coast of Newfoundland- I am heading to Gros Morne. I spent the past few days casually putting things together for this trip, Man is it ever a lot of work! We are camping for the four days that we are there so fingers crossed that the weather will co-operate with us. Then again we are in Newfoundland and we know how untrustworthy the weather can be here. You could say that we haven't even had a taste of summer yet. We get a few days of sunshine and 22-24 degrees but you can almost always guarantee that there will be a day or two of single digits and rain to follow. Now I am a firm believer in the saying that there is no such thing as bad weather just bad gear and a poor attitude. A friend of mine once told me that and it’s a saying I've been using ever since. I'm not really one to complain about the weather but single digits in July IS a bit much. The heat was on in the house the other day, & mudder almost broke out the long underwear. Look out!!
If you live in our household you have all of your camping needs at your fingertips. Needless to say I spent hours sitting in a piles of camping gear trying to decide what I needed to take with me and what I could leave. Something that I have only recently learned is that Bears are attracted to citronella candles- WHO KNEW. I should have known, I mean citronella is sweet smelling and bears are known to love sweets. So maybe unscented candles would be best for helping to keep the flies away!!!
Because we live in Newfoundland, packing to go camping can be quite the struggle as we are known to get all four seasons in one day. The beauty of living on an island in the middle of the Atlantic I guess!
Most importantly for this trip out west, a good Tea Mug is key. Upon searching high and low I found the PERFECT mugs for this trip.

Are they not just the best thing?
I’m really looking forward to this weekend away with my best mate. She has never been to Gros Morne before so I am very excited to show her around and share all the things with her that I love about that place.
But for now I must go and finish my last minute packing- as you do!
Write again soon.
